# Odysseo Oceanarium

> Odysseo, the island’s first oceanarium in Port Louis, with 45 aquariums, special experiences, opening hours, prices and contact.

Odysseo is the first oceanarium of Mauritius. It is located at the Harbour Waterfront in Port Louis, a five-minute walk over the Caudan Waterfront pedestrian bridge from Victoria Bus Station, which the Metro Express also serves, so it combines easily with a day in the capital.

On 5,500 square metres you will find 45 aquariums with around 200 species and some 3,500 specimens, all native to the Indian Ocean. The exhibits lead you from lagoons and coral reefs out to the open sea, and you can see colourful fish, sharks, stingrays and many invertebrates. You explore at your own pace, and a self-guided audio tour in English, French and German can be rented at the ticket office.

Besides the normal visit, Odysseo offers extras such as the Sea 360 VR (a 12-minute virtual reality dive without getting wet), Instant Feeding (watching the aquarists feed the animals), Feed the Sharks, a behind-the-scenes tour called “Back of the House” and even a night in the aquarium with “Sleep with the Sharks”. Inside you will find a food corner, and there is a souvenir shop at the end of the visit. Food and drinks from outside are not allowed.

As the oceanarium is indoors, it is a good alternative during your Mauritius holiday if the weather is not what you hoped for. The paths are stroller-friendly and the building is accessible for wheelchairs. Parking is free and covered.

## Opening hours and prices

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, last entry at 4:15 pm. Closed on 1 January.

Prices for visitors from abroad: adults (18+) Rs 1,280, children 4 to 12 years Rs 960, children under 4 years free. Residents of Mauritius pay lower prices. Tickets can be bought online in advance.
