# Cinemas

> Where to watch films in Mauritius: the MCiné cinemas in Port Louis, Grand Baie, Trianon (Quatre Bornes) and Curepipe, and what they show.

There are not many cinemas left in Mauritius, and almost all of them are run by one company, MCiné. It shows the latest Bollywood blockbusters, films from southern India in Tamil, Telugu or Marathi (with subtitles), recent releases from the West and, now and then, a Mauritian film. A normal seat costs around Rs 250; the premium halls cost more. Check the programme for the language of each film before you go.

## MCiné at Le Caudan Waterfront, Port Louis

The capital’s cinema is at Le Caudan Waterfront, the shopping and leisure complex on the harbour front of Port Louis. It is run by MCiné, so you can easily combine a film with shopping or dinner at the Waterfront.

## MCiné at La Croisette, Grand Baie

The cinemas in the La Croisette shopping mall in Grand Baie used to be run by Cinémas Star, which closed them for good on 31 March 2026. MCiné has taken over the halls, so there is a cinema in the north again.

## MCiné Trianon, Quatre Bornes

In Trianon, near Quatre Bornes, MCiné has six halls at the Tribeca Mall, among them two premium halls with very comfortable reclining seats, a huge screen and Dolby sound (a ticket there costs Rs 600). Tickets can be booked on the MCiné website, [mcine.mu](https://mcine.mu/).

## MCiné in Curepipe

In Curepipe, MCiné runs the former Novelty cinema, which has been an MCiné since 2021. The Cinémas Star (including the one in Curepipe) and the ABC cinema in Rose Hill no longer operate. For Rose Hill and Quatre Bornes, the nearest cinema is now MCiné Trianon.
